Avoid virus in your computer

As you know there are many virusses, worms and there are hackers very actief on the Internet.
Daily there are new virusses active.

Our computer, Internet connection and website is with different systems protected.
Our provider runs a virusscanner and a spamfilter.

What we do on our own computer:
We have a firewall, a router, a virus scanner and a spamfilter.
They are 24 hours a day active in our protection.
Our browser has an extra high level of security.
Daily our computers are updated such as Windows update, Dat-files for the virus scanner and so on.
Via the spamfilter about 90 % of all e-mail we receive we deleate before we downloade the good mail to our computer.
Daily we receive much spam mail and many virusses. All mail we do not trust we deleate.
To check for malware we run different programs to check and clean if neccesary.

What to do to protect the computer:

  1. Contact your computer suplier for protection possibilities.
  2. Update your Windows every week or daily via Start and Windows update.
  3. Install a firewall via software and / or via a router, or do both.
  4. Install a virus scanner and update it daily. Update your virus scanner if there is a new version of it.
  5. Install a spamfilter and update it dayly.
  6. Run software to check for malware.
  7. Put your Internetbrouwser on a safe level.
  8. Be sure your e-mailprogramm cannot read html mail.
  9. Only put addresses in your address book manual and only if the address is safe, never do this automaticly.
  10. Empty the map deleated items frequently.
  11. Open e-mail only via your spamfilter and deleat all rubbish before you downloadt the mail to your computer.
  12. Never open e-mail from a strange address or when it have a strange text by Subject.
  13. Never open attatchements when you are not sure that it is safe.
  14. Send mail by your self without attatchments if possible.
  15. Finally always be critical, even when mail seems to come from someone you know. Maybe it is send by a virus in their computer.
