Ethics

Ethics introduction

Ethics is a sort of philosophy about our environment and practical things. It especially has to do with our behavior, the way we handle nature, with morality, our sense of values and standards, the world and nature as a whole. Within this we think on others, on nature and on our self.

Ethical thinking of the florist in his profession is hardly developed. It is time to change this because there are more demands on our environment, on the way grow plants environmentally friendly (this happens on a small scale. Also MPS-certification works hard on better circumstances for plant growing). Arranging flowers on an environmentally friendly way is also important and offers many possibilities. It is from this view not allowed to use protected plants, flowers or animals such as coral, dried see stars or complete wings of birds or bird nests. We better do not use any materials what can harm on nature, such as some spray cans, some paint, harmful accessories and attributes. In many trends we see unfortunately an increase of these harmful materials and techniques.

Of course we cannot stop direct using all materials we use today or change them for something else. Important is to start thinking in another way. Let we start a process to become more aware about the importance of an healthy nature. The florist can start with tasks and learn to work more in harmony with nature, with respect of our mother earth. A way of working what will not do harm on humans, plants and animals. It is also important for future generations. 

It is of great importance to orientate our self on a wide area concerning ethics. After this may be a self-conscious way of working exist, based on our own responsibility. To give honor to our creator and His creation. It is not for nothing we are the protectors of Gods creation. Also florists belong to it! We must protect nature, the plants and the wild life. Since the industrial revolution and for sure in the 20th century the damage on nature is enormous. This cannot continue because it leads to self destruction. Ethics can help us to understand and to learn that we all are responsible for it.

Florists have to think what to do with their left over packing materials and plant materials. It is the best to split it and to work on recycling of materials. Plant materials can be used for compost. Chloride can be changed for nature friendly biological cleaning stuff, like Chrysal Cleaner. Ethic is the starting point of our new thinking and handling. It can give us a good feeling and positive effect on our self and our environment.

In fact we have to be logic in our behavior and attitude to nature and to each other in a positive way. In this time we see more and more a egocentric, egoistic attitude. Values seems to be less important. It is a pity because it also cause violence. An honest positive attitude and behavior will give us also more space to have contact in a good way with our college and customers. The next poem maybe can help to change your thoughts.

will disappear in the dark night.

Do we not have to start with our self?
