Toon Leemans dead
The famous Dutch floral artist Toon Leemans (born 14 nov. 1943) died on august 22. Toon Leemans, who I know personally, was an important and creative Dutch floral designer and author. He also organised courses and workshops. Alone and with Gerd Verschoor, who also is a great floral artist, he enriches the floral profession (around1975 - 1990) with many renewals. His vew on flower art was different. He created new ideas and new ways for techniques and design in flower art. Toon his books and ideas are important for the development of Dutch flower art. Toon was exentric, but also a faccinating personality. He enjoys life and because of that he was able to create new directions in flower art.
