Theme or subject: Autumn arrangement
|

Study level 2 and 3
Style:
Hogarth style; S-line
Description:
Autumn always is a period to create nice arrangements. The materials have
a own and very special character this arrangement is based on the well
known S-line. Also called the Hogarth line. William Hogarth called it the
line of beauty. We create a design with a
strong S-line. The arrangement can be made one sided or two sided to your
choice. You can create an effect with only a little or just with a lot of
flowers. Here we have worked with limited materials. The advantage is that
each part becomes a clear element in the arrangement. Your choice to use a
little or a lot of flowers create an open of just a compact form. Choose
the colors and materials to the season. A limited choice, as we have done
create more rest in the arrangement.
We need for this lesson:
- 1 peace of oasis.
- To your choice a limited or mixed combination.
- Some leaves to give accent to the line.
- You also can choose another combination.
Step by step:
- Put the oasis in the vase, just a little bit above the edge. Cut of
the edge of the oasis.
- Put in some branches to create the mainline.
- Put in the flowers, between the branches. Keep in mind the form of
the S-line. Wit copper wire you can fix the Physalis on the branches.
- Finish the arrangement in the center with some leaves and short
flowers or berries.
- To your choice with a few or with many flowers.
Materials used are:
Copper vase, Cornus alba 'Sibirica', Physalis, Aspidistra elatior,
Echinacea purpurea Galax urceolata and copper wire.
