Theme: Christmas arrangement |

Study level 2 and 3
Style:
Decorative
Description:
We create an all sided decorative arrangement, but it still has a natural
feeling.
We do this in a basket with oasis and a cone form. The cone must be
covered with different materials. We try to create an interesting
difference in texture. For he top we use a natural woven clock form. As an
extra texture we use some copper wire around the arrangement.
We need for this lesson:
-
A basket and a pot for inside or plastic.
-
Oasis for in the basket and a oasis cone
form to put on top of it.
-
Pine green and several conifers.
-
Pine cones.
-
Reindeer moss.
-
Sheet moss or pillow moss.
-
Christmas balls.
-
A woven clock form.
-
Spool wire and copper wire.
-
Eventually some additional materials such
as apples, mushrooms and so on.
Step by step:
- Use an inner pot or plastic in the basket to prevent leaking
water.
- Fill the basket with Oasis and fix the Oasis cone. (You also can
make this by yourself by using peaces of Oasis. Cover it with wire netting.)
- Put a few bamboo sticks from the top of the cone to the bottom to
fix
it.
- Put in the green branches. Work in groups.
- Fix the moss on the cone form and fix it with pins. By working in
strong groups and when you take care for contrasts in texture, there
will be an interesting pattern.
- Put the clock on the top of the cone.
- Make with copper wire an extra decorative layer around the
arrangement.
Materials used are: Picea pungens 'Glauca', Chamaecyparis
obtusa"Nana Gracilis", Thuja occidentalis, Cladina stellaris (reindeer
moss), Pinus-cones, Cedrus-cones, sheet moss, glass balls and copper wire.
