Study level 1 and 2
Style: Vegetative, natural
Description:
The open playfulness of a wild spontaneous and natural design gives us a
feeling of freedom. All materials can find their own and ideal place in
the whimsical basic form of the flowering branches. The tulips and Ranunculus
grow a little further in their length and they will then integrate in the
moving lines of the arrangement. A metal container filled with oasis is used
as base for the arrangement. The character of the colors is soft and
sensitive, but the contrast is made a little bit stronger by using the nice
red color tints. Here we have chosen or a all sided design, but you also can
create a one sided arrangement. The open effect we call
ajour.
We need for this lesson:
-
A vase, pot, or metal bucket,
about 15 till 20 cm. high.
-
1.5 piece Oasis.
-
For the basic form you use
the elegant Betula pendula branches.
-
Other kind of flowering
branches you can choose for the combination. As example Prunus, Malus,
Viburnum.
-
Tulipa or Narcissus suits
perfect in the loose and tender character of t his arrangement. Here
we have chosen for 10 Tulipa and 10 Ranunculus, because they often
grow on in a elegant way.
-
a few top ends of Hedera can
be used as basis and they give also a bit rest and depth in the
arrangement.
-
You can choose also another
combination, depending what is available.
Step by step:
-
Soap the Oasis and push it in the vase, take care for
a place to refill the water.
-
Put in as first the Hedera heads as basis and create a
all sided shape.
-
Put in the Betula branches. Bind them eventually on a
few places. You can create a open sort of free form.
-
Put in the other flowering branches.
-
Put in the Ranunculus and after it the Tulipa. do this
in a spontaneous form.
Materials used are: Prunus, Viburnum, Tulipa, Ranonculus,
Betula pendula, Hedera.
