Description:

We need for this lesson:

  • A vase made from ceramic or glass.

  • or 2 pieces oasis or a piece of chicken wire.
  • ne type of flower to your choice. Hre we used Gerbera.
  • he colour combination is an irregular Triade (three-tone). But you can choose any other colour combination. For a restfull and strong effect choose one main colour.
  • ne kind of green leaves, here we used Hedera.
  • Ribbon, tule and string or cord.

Step by step:

  1. Choose flowers with a length of about. 45 till 50 cm. This depends of the size of the arrangement and the size of the vase.
  2. Fill the vase till the edge with oasis. Or use chicken wire, what can be better for the Gerbera. In that case you need Gerbera with long stems. With oasis to arrange is easier. When Gerbera has hollow stems you must make with a small stick first a hole in the oasis.
  3. Cut of the stems with a sharp knife and give them a elegant place in a vertical position as a group.
  4. Make a low group of leaves around the edge of the vase.
  5. Make a large bow and bind it together with string or cord (see the book Lint (all about ribbon) how to do this on page 45, 47,49 or 51.
  6. Put the tule elegantly around the vase and bind it with the string of the bow. Use some extra string for a decorative effect.
  7. Do not forget to fill the vase daily with water and Chrysal. Only when you used Chicke wire (metal) you may not use Chrysal).

Materials: minimal 10 Gerbera (we have used about 45), about 30 Hedera-leaves, ribbon, tule, cord or string.

For more information see the book: Lint (all about ribbon, in dutch language only)
