Description:
This is a basic arrangement and very easy to make. The principle is that you create line and space. But in a decorative compact way. With the materials you create an all sided spontaneous form. Create an interesting crossing form. Lines are allowed to cross as long as the whole is harmonious. In this arrangement are used mainly leaves and some roses.

We need for this lesson:

  • A high elegant transparent glass vase, preferabely a cone shape up side down.
  • 20 to 30 stems of steel grass.
  • One kind of flowers to your choice. Here we used roses. 7 to 10 flowers is enough.
  • The colour combination in this arrangement is a contrast between green and red. Choose a combination of colours you like your self.

Step by step:

  • Fill the vase with water for about 25 % and add Chrysal.
  • Put the speer grass one by one in the vase and bend them above the edge of the vase on about 15 to 20 cm.
  • Let the broken lines play their game in the composition, but keep enough space in it for the flowers.
  • Put the flowers between the leaves on the same level.
  • Cut away the long parts of the leaves to create a compact form. You can keep them on to to have a more elegant design.
  • Do not forget to refill the water daily.

Materials:

  • 20 steelgrass Xanthorrhoea preisii, 10 Rosa.
