Aad van Uffelen demonstrate Dutch flower art
in USA
From March 10 till 13 2004 Aad van Uffelen gave 2 demonstrations
on the Philadelphia flowershow in America. Also he
teaches in two hands on workshops. The theme was contemporary
creative new and avant garde design in
Dutch flower art. The Philadelphia flowershow
is the largest flower show in the USA. In 9 days about one
million visitors come to see this.
The reactions on the demonstrations and workshops are very
good.
Hanneke Maassen assisted Aad to do those demonstrations
and workshops. She also created some very nice high level arrangements.
Aad van Uffelen was asked to choose the best arrangement is
show to hand over the de Aad van Uffelen Award
to the winner.
This activity took place with coopereation of Holland College
(HollandAccent @work) in de Lier, the Netherlands.

Exposition in Kunsthuis 18, the
Netherlands
Students of the Dutch Floral Master course (Holland College)
had an Valentine exposition of flower arrangements in an
art gallery in Naaldwijk, Holland. Theme was flowers of love.
Together with poets the students create many nice arrangements.
Most of them were floral objects.
The course for Dutch Floral Master is the highest course
level to study flower art in the Netherlands. Aad van Uffelen
and Hanneke Maassen organise this course in Holland
College in De Lier.

Perennial of the year in Holland
- 2004
Echinacea purpurea, is chosen as perennial of the year
2004. It is a very nice and beautiful garden plant which
flower form July till September.
The flower petals are
violet/pink The flower head has a globe shape. It has a very
long life in a bouquet or flower arrangement. The former
name of this plant is Rudbeckia purpurea. The plant likes
a sunny place and can be 2 meter high.
Bees and butterflies likes to visit the flower. A good garden
plant and very good for flower art.
