New site of Dutch Flower Link on-line

It has taken much work, but I am happy that you finally can see my new website. It is changed completely and is much easier to navigate and much faster now. I have to do more work on the site in next months to change pages and make a new magazine like home page for you.

Aad van Uffelen and Hanneke Maasen with van der Voort to Rome

With Eastern the Dutch growers have supported the large flower garden for the Pope in Rome. Around the altar was made a big garden and many flower arrangements. Aad van Uffelen and Hanneke Maassen, teachers in flower art at Holland college took part of it as floral designers. The main designer and responsable is Charles van der Voort uit Leiden.

Varend corso Westland

May 5 Floating flower parade (Varend Corso Westland) was presented a new logo. With this a better information and image can be reachd and communicated. It is a nice colour full logo what the multicoloured growers area The Westland (in the west part of the Netherlands) shows us. It is designed by Narville from Naaldwijk. The corso is on 30 and 31 July and on August 1. It goes to the Westland, Delft and Den Haag. More than 200.000 visitors come to look at it. More infowww.varendcorso.nl

House of Plants in de Horti Fair

The flower auction Aalsmeer, VBA, Ad Berends and Trendhouse are started together with students of Holland College in De Lier, to design the new edition of Horti Fair House of Plants. The trendy international inspiration for plant design. Dutch Master designers/teachers Aad van Uffelen and Hanneke Maassen are involved and assist students by developing the designs and making the show. Plants are sponsored by six growers. Students take the challenge to make a unique happening and interesting creations with the plants. Essential is the extra value, placement in a surrounding, the creative and new aspects. Plants are: Kalanchoe, Zantedeschia, Tillandsia, Beaucarnea, Anthurium, Orchid and Spathyphyllum.

Perennial of the year in Holland - 2004

Echinacea purpurea, is chosen as perennial of the year 2004. It is a very nice and beautiful garden plant which flower form July till September.
The flower petals are violet/pink The flower head has a globe shape. It has a very long life in a bouquet or flower arrangement. The former name of this plant is Rudbeckia purpurea. The plant likes a sunny place and can be 2 meter high.
Bees and butterflies likes to visit the flower. A good garden plant and very good for flower art.
