Scent

Scent often have something mysterious and can bring emotion. It also has a kind of relationship with the higher powers and people use it in many religions to take contact. To smell is one of our sentences and it has much influence on  the way animal world and also people experience, recognize, remembering and  go through. It is not easy to define scents. Often we not come further as: nice or dirty.

  • Some type of scents: sultryl, sweet, wood, fresh.
  • An aromatic substance is a substance what has a specific scent.
  • Single scenting compositions exist from one aromatic substance.
  • Multiple scenting compositions are arranged from more and different scents.
  • A mixture of aromatic substances (and often also flavour) we called an aroma.
  • Scenting flower arrangements.

Choose a scenting flower or a combination of different ones. This can be a scent based on: spring, autumn, the forest, birth, Eastern and so on.

Scentend flower arrangements

Make your choice if a scent play in important role or just an added role in a flower arrangement.

There are many plants or part of plants who can have a scent such as: roots (gember), branches, bark (Juglans regia, walnut), the wood (Cedrus), buds (Poulus balsamifera), leaves (Pelargonium), flowers (Matthiola) and fruits (strawberry). It difference per sort or and how scent will appear. Sometimes you notice the scent only after damaging leaves or so (Thuja occidentalis).

To much scent is not pleasant. When you use too much scent or to much different scents together, the result can be a not nice smell. You know when you use too many lilies or Matthiola in a small room.

Scent tips

  • In a cold place flowers are less scenting.
  • Ripe flowers have a stronger scent.
  • Use few scenting flowers in a table decoration when it is for a diner.
  • Clear life or leaf shine disturb the scent of a flower.
  • Smoke disturb a scent.
  • Use for serious ill people no strong scenting flowers.
  • Scent often only will appear when you damage a leaf.
