Tips

Environmentally friendly flower art

Tip 1
Buy flowers grown under a biological label. Or buy flowers with MPS-A quality. (There is a special environmental label Milieukeur).
(In Holland we also have EKO flowers (mark GEA)

Tip 2
Do not use protected flowers and pick them not in nature.
Do never use protected materials such as: coral, some tropical shells, bird nests and so on.
Do not use products such as dried fish and parts of birds or snake.
Reed the information of Cites or your local law on protecting nature.

Tip 3
Do not use painted flowers. There are many species with nice natural colors for sale. There is no need to use painted flowes at all.

Tip 4
Do not use any accessories not needed such as wire, spray paint, tape and so on. Try to use alternative techniques such as clasping, weaving, binding and so on. Work as natural as possible.

Tip 5
Think about ethics and what it can mean for your flower arrangement and way of working. And how you can use it in flower art.

Tip 6
Bring the message about ethics and a protection of nature in your surrounding and above all to the children. Help to take care for nature and earth and protect her.

Tip 7
Reed the book Natural flower design. It is all about techniques and design. Learn to make environmentally friendly flower arrangements, reed more

Reed also the page about ethics
