Christian Life Profile

When you think of your future, what's most important: Passion? Purpose? Prosperity? And where does faith fit in?

Founded in 1866 as a coeducational institution rooted in the Lutheran church, Thiel College has created an environment that allows you to find the balance to that equation. Founding donors Louis and Barbara Thiel believed that Christian faith impels social responsibility—setting the guiding principles of Thiel College.

A teacher, a mentor, a pastor—and a chef
Campus Pastor Brian Riddle is a great example of finding that balance. He’s a 2007 graduate of Thiel College, and before answering the calling, he was a professional chef. Pastor Riddle helps all students at Thiel navigate the journey to professional and personal fulfillment.

Tradition and innovation
Throughout its history, Thiel has strived to be progressive while honoring the traditions that make it special. The College’s second graduating class reflected those ideals; that class included four women, making the College among the earliest institutions to be coeducational. To this day, Thiel remains a college of opportunity that can provide you with the tools you need to explore your faith while combining your passions and purpose.

Find your calling
Expanding on Thiel’s strong track record of allied health programs, the College is developing a new innovative Nursing program. Also new are degrees in Exercise Science, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Health Systems, Environmental Safety Management, and Sports Management. These new programs join the College’s other 60+ majors and minors.

Fast track to success
Thiel also has new graduate programs in Business Administration, Speech-Language Pathology, and Physician Assistant Studies, so undergraduate students can combine their work and graduate with a bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s degree in just five years.
